Acupuncture has been shown to:

In treating internal medical conditions, acupuncture and associated therapies have been shown to

  • Release endorphins, the body’s natural feel-good chemicals
  • Improve circulation of blood and lymphatic fluids
  • Stimulate and rebalance the central nervous system
  • Regulate heart rate, blood pressure, and muscle tension
  • Reduce local and systemic inflammation
  • Regulate the neuro-endocrine system and how parts of your body communicate with each other

What to expect:

When pursuing treatment for an internal medicine condition, we usually recommend clustering visits closer together initially (once or twice per week), and then gradually lengthening the amount of time between sessions as your body starts to respond to the acupuncture. We look for improvements in intensity, frequency, and duration of symptoms, as well as improvements in daily function. Our end goal is to get you to a place where you don’t need to come in for treatment anymore. In the case of chronic, progressive, or degenerative conditions, our goal is to space visits out as much as possible to find a maintenance plan that works for you to keep your symptoms reduced and your quality of life improved.

Treatments may consist of acupuncture, Chinese Herbal Medicine recommendations, cupping and gua sha manual therapy, moxibustion, as well as nutrition/activity/lifestyle recommendations.

We will work with you at your first visit to solidify a treatment plan based on what you are experiencing.
